Why, What & Who? >

Creative Australia 2022-23 Arts Leaders program visits Tab Space creative hub in Bandung.

We do things differently.

Jump Left is agile, generating professional opportunities for artists and industry partners.

Vision

We envisage an expansive contemporary art ecology, where diverse artists thrive.

Purpose

Artist Dionne Canzano, Arts Project Australia.

Jump Left addresses a critical need in the arts landscape: choice.

We develop and champion artist- and industry-led initiatives, establishing inclusive opportunities where diverse artists are empowered, visible, and well positioned to achieve their aspirations.

About

Responding to shifts at the intersection of art and disability that are reshaping the artistic landscape: Jump Left paves the way for greater choice and inclusion.

We fill a critical gap by expanding opportunities, recognising the urgent need for specialised professional frameworks that support artists in developing creative projects, collaborating with peers, advancing their careers, and connecting with global professionals and audiences.

Art et al. X Cromwell Place: Season One launch, London in 2022.
  • According to Creative Australia, one in five Australians have a disability. For disabled artists, inclusive environments—both online and in-person—are essential for accessing resources, connecting with peers, and expressing their creative vision.

Founded in 2024, Jump Left offers a niche approach to the arts and disability space. We collaborate with artists and partner organisations to promote inclusive arts practices through bespoke projects.

Our purpose-for-profit model reinvests profits to empower artists, support innovative projects, and amplify disability advocacy.

Our reach goes beyond local impact. We share our experiences with global audiences, peak bodies, and policymakers to drive societal change, making the arts more diverse, accessible, and welcoming.

We believe in knowledge sharing and provide accessible resources for artists and art enthusiasts.

“I played a key role in solidifying Arts Project Australia (APA) as a global leader in its advocacy, support and promotion of artists with intellectual disabilities. While senior curator and gallery manager, highlights included securing APA's inaugural Creative Victoria four-year funding, establishing and managing its external Collingwood Yards gallery, and as curatorial co-founder of Art et al. with UK colleagues, embedding APA artists in global art ecologies."
